Paper Lantern
Lanterns made up of paper are beautiful works of art. These paper lanterns are of all shapes and sizes. Some lanterns can be made up with bamboo and paper. These paper lanterns are simple but graceful, and perfect for any house decoration. These paper lanterns are perfect for parties and weddings. There are various types of lantern like Japanese paper lanterns, Chinese paper lanterns, festival party lanterns and outdoor party terrace garden lights and many more that develop into colorful creations.
The preparation of these paper lanterns is fun, and those can be proudly hung in your house. It require the basic materials, a little skill and a lot of patience in preparation of the paper lantern
For this, what you need to do is to follow some simple directions and make your own paper lantern.
The materials you need in preparation of this paper lantern are:
* Three sheets of paper
* Adhesive or sticky tape
* Colored pencil , markers or paint
* Needle and thread
* Craft sticks, strips of card
Along with this you need to have lots of patience.
Steps to prepare paper lantern:
* The first step is coloring the paper: Take three sheets of paper; stick them together to make one long sheet. Fold the paper in half lengthwise and then colors, the outside of the paper form both sides. You can also put picture if you wish, also you can make use of a color pattern of any solid color.
* The second Step is to fold the paper: Fold the paper in zigzag fashion, as similar to one that you do in preparation for a paper fan. Fold the paper half an inch in one direction and similarly half in another direction. Then press them well and check that it is well wrinkled.
* The third Step is to separate the two sides of the paper: First unfold the whole paper a bit and refold each side separately. You should make one fold at the top, and two edges, making a v-shape. Press all the folds again.
* The Fourth step is to fix the paper: Take a needle along with thread; pass the needle through each fold of one edge of that paper and leave about an inch of thread hanging and pass the needle through another fold. Then tie of the thread and repeat on another edge.
* The fifth step is to open the Lantern: Pull out the folded edges of the paper, and it has to be unfolding in a circle. If the lantern has a hole in the center, tie it with the help of thread.
* The sixth step is to hang the Lantern: Put a hook on the top or the best way is to stick a Popsicle stick on each side of the join; you can also make use of a thin strip of card. Make holes on both sticks. Tie thread or use a paper cut off to make a hook.
* The final step is to Light the Lantern: Never make use of a candle with a paper lantern. You can use a flash light or bulb inside the lantern. You can hang the flashlight or bulb from the sticks.
Now the paper lantern really looks beautiful and created good environment in your house.
