Japanese Lanterns

The people from Japan are very creative and artistic in nature. They are well known for their lanterns, especially in Japanese paper lantern skill. There are verities of Japanese lanterns available in market. Even books are readily available on the art of Japanese lanterns. Now days even separate classes are programmed to teach the art of Japanese lanterns and exhibitions are being held all over the world to take this art format to remote corner of the world. Among these more famous are the Japanese paper lanterns, which are used in every house in Japan to decorate their houses and to have a proper illumination facility. Japanese lanterns are well renowned all over the world for their art of paper cutting.

Some of the Japanese paper lanterns are described in next few lines. There are lot many verities of Japanese paper lanterns and it is difficult to describe all of them. They are not only cheap in cost but also are attractive in nature and easy to prepare and use. A Japanese lantern uses the electrical bulbs in them and never uses candles to illuminate the fire hazards.

Japanese lanterns are foldable and open up in simple procedure. One of the most important Japanese lantern is double happiness lantern that is commonly used for wedding parties and during important functions and functions. Normally these lanterns are in red color and measures 6" in diameter and 10" in height. Attractive designs are drawn on all the sides to create fabulous look.

Here also good quality rice paper is selected for getting Japanese look. These lanterns are used during important Japanese festivals. A global shape paper lantern is another important milestone in Japanese art of lanterns. Here also evenly spaced strong bamboo ribs are used for providing beautiful shadows and for creating mirage image. Bamboo sticks cut in artistic manner and surrounded by quality paper is the main attraction of this type of lantern and it is best example of rich Japanese culture.

Another beautiful creation is battery-operated lantern in which a low voltage bulb is used and operates with the help of pencil size batteries. It comes in pack of six or a dozen. Here the various color paper is used or in combination to have marvelous look. Table lanterns are also available in different shapes and sizes. They can be decorative purpose or for study purpose.
